We are a research group of the Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) primarily involved in the study of the coastal Ichthyofauna (Continental platform, seamounts, estuaries and lagoons) and small-scale and artisanal fisheries of the south and south-west coasts of Portugal. Our research interests include: fisheries biology, population dynamics, recruitment, gear selectivity studies, the impact of gears on the marine ecosystem (ghost fishing, discarding practices), application of underwater methods (monitoring of artificial reefs, dredging and lost nets).
