Adopt a seagrass Meadow: A conservation project of the portuguese seagrass meadows visit the ADOPT project webpage [in portuguese] The "Adopt a Seagrass Meadow" project is an initiative of the Algarve Center of Marine Sciences (CCMAR), sponsored by the Oceanário de Lisboa, and carried out by Gobius Comunicação e Ciência, which aims to create opportunities for society involvement in monitoring and protecting seagrass meadows, which are one of the most vulnerable marine ecosystems of the Portuguese coast. In adopting a seagrass meadow, the general public is helping to protect and keep under surveilance this unic ecosystem. One of the main goals of the project is to increase people awareness of the importance of seagrass meadows. |
